I am glad to offer readers my rendition of 3 Enoch in a new modern translation. The Third Book of Enoch (Hebrew Enoch), or "The Book of Palaces," is an ancient Jewish mystical composition. How ancient? Around the sixth century CE. Though it is built on the same ancient lore, 3 Enoch is quite different from 1 Enoch and 2 Enoch. It does not sound much like other Second Temple Era Jewish books. Instead, it sounds more like the Talmud. It builds on the esoteric themes of Enoch but reads more like rabbinic teaching, reminiscent of the Merkavah stories. It uses rabbinic terminology and introduces you to the angel Metatron in the most intimate way. Still, it's called 3 Enoch for a reason, as it pulls on the ancient threads that lead to the Book of Watchers so many people find highly intriguing. Look Inside?
